A6 2.7 rim problem
I had to replace my 4 broken bbs rc rims thanks to our Fing great roads here in Vermont. And after readings couple post on what will and won't fit. I ordered 17 with a 35 mm offset. I just got my front L off and the new rim rubs the calliper without putting bolts back in. Hoping someone knows what mm spacer I will need. Thanks

Well, the stock AVUS rims are 7.5X17 with ET45. So it looks like you'll need at least a 10mm spacer and appropriately longer lug bolts. However, I suggest you do your own washer stackup...get a bunch of washers and stackthem similarly on three bolts until you just clear the calipers.....then put as many more on as you think are necessary. Measure the washer stackup and walla!
Of course, YMMV.

I think it's a matter of aesthetics...if the rims look ok in the wheelwell, run the same spacer.
FWIW, I HAVE to run 10-12mm spacers on my E46 M3 using 17" rims from TireRack for winter tires...235/45-17 or somesuch. I can't tell the difference from stock 18" rims inside/outside-wise. Perhaps TireRack already did the aesthetics for me or did it to maintain the same rear track width as stock.

rear is far less critical than front, since they dont steer. So i agree - its aesthetics.
What rims did you buy that rubbed at 35mm/17'? Apparently you didnt read the part about "every rim is shaped differently so there is no absolute answer...."
If the bad roads are eating your wheels, you, IMNSHO, bought the wrong size. I switched to 16s. Problem solved.
