Is the A6 2.8 good?

The 2.8 is underpowered and under-braked, to put it bluntly. But why waste time asking us when your *** dyno will answer the question easily enough? If you're happy with it, then it's fine.

If you had an A4 1.8t without a chip, the power of the A6 2.8 will probably feel adequate. I have a 2001 2.8 (200 hp) and wish it had another 25 horses. Best bet is to drive it and see for yourself. One warning, there are no chips for the 2.8 that offer any big boost in hp.

you can even out accelerate a civic around the city block but once up to speed on highway its fine for passing traffic. all the other US A6s are much stronger
