A6 4.2 [ 245/40/18 ] Okay?
Hi:
I have an 2001 A6 4.2 quattro sedan.
Current setup: OEM 17x8, 255/40/17
I would like to get the 18x8 RS6 replicas, however, I live in Chicago and need all-season tires that can handle snow.
Will this setup work? Any issues, rubbing? speedometer? snow-slippage? etc...
RS6 replicas 18x8
245/40/18 ContiExtreme all-season tires.
Thank you.

Nope, running 255/40/18"s - better for potholes, and helps protect the wheel....
from curb rash, etc.
The fit in there just perfectly. You could run 35's if you wanted. You'll be fine.
I specifically went for the 40's because it is my "WINTER" set up.
I have the LM 20"s as my summer/better weather gear.

Re: Check my pic poster.... I have the RS4 18" reps.... running 255/contiextremes....
<center><img src="http://www.discounttiredirect.com/product/wheels/reprs6.large.jpg"></center><p>I've basically narrowed by choice of tire down to following:
245/40/18 Continental ContiExtreme. I think this will handle Chicago winters with no problems.
As far as wheels go, please advise which of the following 3 would work best (fitment-wise)
(1) RS4/S-line Replica. 18x8 ET-35mm offset

(2) RS4/S-line Replica. 18x8.5 ET-35mm offset

(3) RS6 Replica. 18x8.5 ET-30 offset
