A6 Body Styles
Is there any difference in the body style between an A6 2.8, 2.7T or 4.2? If so, what differences do they have? I know they must have different badging, but I was wondering if there is any other way to tell the models apart.

Yes - 4.2 has big fender flares and the hood/front fender assembly is longer
to accomodate the larger engine. In previous years the grill was different also but they are the same in MY 2002. The 4.2 also has a larger body flare at the bottom of the door sills.

Track is wider on the 4.2 as well. Do the '02 2.7/3.0 have aluminum front fenders?
Sounds weird when washing the car. The hose going from the door to the fender - the sound is so different.

I've also notice the sound of wather on aluminium diffrent from the doors one
and also when there is condensation on the car, it appears everywhere except on the hood and fenders.
