I have a 99 A6 2.8 Quattro and am trying to correct the No-run Aux Cooling Fan. The old fan was replaced with a new unit. Both fuses 20 and 21 are good and I have power to the Aux Fan Control unit. So if the fan will not run at temps over normal or with the A/C on, would that mean the Control Unit is bad??
Would welcome any input here....

As a general rule, yes. However, there's the chance that the odd sensor/switch is bad...have you checked all inputs to the control unit? If all the inputs are good and the fan runs with separate 12v power (have you actually checked to see if the new fan runs with separate power?) then the control unit is the last link in the chain.

I have not checked the sensor in th lower rad hose, as I can not get the connector off? Because I don' have any fan operation in either high coolant temp, not A/C mode, concluded the control must be faulty....
