To C5 owners, I could use some help.

I'm looking to replace the US Spec A6 3.0 xenon headlamp housings with A6 xenon D2S EUR ecode housings.

I've located a pair in Europe. I'm hoping that it is swap the housings and everything fits, but I've got a couple questions for those that have either attempted or were successful with the conversion.

My questions are these:

It looks like there's a hard requirement for me to have the Hella Generation 3 Ballasts in order to fit in the new housings. I'm not sure if I do. Visual inspection doesn't help me. Do any of the C5 experts know if the 2003 A6 3.0 comes with Gen. 3 ballasts?

And part two...does the US xenon specification use D2S? I know the A4 uses D1S in the US and again, am having trouble identifying the right mix.

I know we use the D2S bulb here. Ballast I do not know. Where did u get E-codes and how much $$?
