Default A6 guys, I have a wheel question.

I am contemplating putting a brake upgrade on my A4 that uses Porsche Boxster calipers. The concern is wether or not it will fit over the wheels I use in the winter. Right now I have stock 15"s that definately won't fit (I run 18s in the summer), but my friends father has a 98 A6 2.8. He doesn't use his stock 16" wheels, so if thoose will clear the brakes I can use them. I know that the A6 2.7T wheels do work, and the so called wineglass wheels won't.

So, my question is, are the wheels on the 98 2.8 the same as the 2.7T wheels? Or are they the wine glass wheels? I think I could still make then fit with a spacer, but I would rather avoid that if possible.

Thanks for the help!<ul><li><a href="http://www.bira.org/wheels.html">Wheels that will and won't work.</a></li></ul>

The A6 2.8 wheels are the wine glass wheels you are reffering to. So they won't fit

Default If you are looking at OEM for your Audi...

you may try the standard 16" wheels of the 4.2, I got them for the winter (17" for the summer) and they will probably clear the caliper. They are sold right now at the dealer as a winter package for the 4.2, I brought them for less then $2000 CND with tires, instaled and balenced. About $1200 US

Default Thanks, don't necessarily need OEM, so if I get the brakes I will prolly just look for cheapest 16s"

i can find, preferably used. Thanks again.

Default Where are you located? I have '00 A6 2.7T Sport wheels with

winter tires for sale. The wheels are the 16" x 7" et45 A6 2.7T "sport package" wheels for 2000 with 215 x 55 Micelin Pilot Alpin tires with about 8500 miles. I'm selling because (like you) I "upgraded" my brakes to Stop-Techs and the OEM 16" wheels won't clear them.

email me if interested.

Cheers,

Pete
