A6: loyalty rebate... pre-tax or...?

The entire purchase price is taxed, regardless of rebate amount.
A6 to A6 is $2000, which if credited to the purchase price would be done so after tax is computed on the entire amount. BTW, my dealer says that of the $2K, they have to kick in $250.
