Default Mine are OK so far ...

but as April sez, yes this is a supplier problem (VDO). I hope all the German manufacturers give them a world of hurt.

But remember, just to be safe, reset your trip odo every time you fill up. When you get to 200 or 250 miles, your gauge should indicate fillup time. If it doesn't, see your doctor.

Default fuel senders on national backorder!

before or after

I got a call today from the dealer because I was still scheduled for a fuel sender replacement, even though I've already had it done. They said they couldn't do my service next week because the senders were on national backorder.

Perhaps they have stopped producing them and are reformulating them again?

Either way, I've had zero problems before or after the recall.

As i watched my feul guage climb from 1/2 to 3/4 full I realized that I had been bitten by the same problems I had read about here (I was hoping my 2000 would arrive with new un-succeptable fuel sending units). My dealer says I am 25th on the list. That they got none in last week, and 3 sets the week before.

I guess now I'm VERY glad that I cancelled my appt to have it done. As long as it continues to work fine, I'll avoid having it done.

FYI, I use Chevron Supreme W/Techroline and Union 76 92 oct. And now, (drum roll) it's Oxygenated Gasoline season in the Puget Sound area. Hmmm.

Default how do you know?

I suggested this as a possible reason, but don't have any info to back it up. Do you? Where did you learn this?
