It's the same procedure for the A6 as compared to the A8, but it's easier to get the pan screws out on the A6. USE ONLY OEM FLUID!

fluid would help greatly.
I haven't decided what to do with mine, as the car is currently 'assured' and I don't want to mess with the warranty should it require other than a fluid change.
Sadly, the dealer will not replace the 'lifetime oil' for less than $500, which is ridiculous.
Keep us posted. If your car is not warranteed I would definitely change the fluid, filter and pan seal, per PaulW.

would rev through 1st and 2nd gears, then feel like it hit a false neutral before banging into 3rd. Would only do it after being on the highway for a while and then getting off an exit.
My solution? Gave it back to the lease company and got an allroad.

cruising along at urban speeds. Sometimes on the freeway in 5th too.
Noticeable I think only in Tip mode (holds the gear) and it seems to come from the rear end, or at least the rear of the trans case.
No idea what causes it. I figure the dealer won't either, as it seems anything I can't solve myself, they can't solve either unless the VAG com tells them the answer.
