Default A6 Troubles

Fact of the matter is i had a lexus (SC400) before i bought my audi, best car i ever had and i was bought used for about 4 years i have that coupe never a peek. Regular maintenance was all i did. 4 Years of absolute perfection, i taught that i was stepping up when i got my audi A6 but, i have had so many repairs, and still counting, the car is only 4 years old for crying out load.

I share your pain, believe me. Similar move from Lexus and similar experience. I laugh about it and say that's the price you pay for teutonic driving excitement. Sometimes I wonder if you have to be a masochist to own an Audi.

Out of the 11 Audi owners (5 A6, 6 A4) here at work, a minority is satisfied with the quality. 2 have had worse trouble than me...hard to believe. Although I'm very, very wary about buying another Audi, I'm not sure if I just got a lemon because Hans and Franz built my car after one too many beers in the local bierstube!

Default Funny, lots of Alfa owners buy Audis because they are somewhat like Alfas, but lower maintenance

than the rides they are used to looking after;-)

It's all perspective.

Well, knock on wood and my head, my A6 has done pretty well. Of course, it's still fairly new. There is just enough doubt in my mind that I may not want one past the warranty period. Haven't seen anything to scare off someone buying or leasing a new one, and I do think of a new A4 coupe as a possibility.

Got to admit though that German made cars have much more panache than Japanese cars. Though those in the know realize Japan can make good, if not better, cars. I think we'll all agree US made cars just don't got that sex appeal. (Sorry, nice as the Corvette looks, it is a Chevrolet.)

Everyone's experience varies of course, but I have owned 4 Audis and never had any trouble.

Default Re: What Audi means

After my '98 A6 developed oil leaks at 50k, I decided that Audi stands for:

A always
U unreliable
D Deutsch
I invention

But I still love it!
