Default A8 brake upgrade for 99 2.8, worth it?

I already STFA but couldn't find a definitive answer. I going to need new brakes soon and want to know if its worth the extra money for the TT carriers and 312mm rotors? For those that done it, did you notice a difference? Would you do it again? Thanks!

Default Nope.

Stocks brakes are more than adequate for most street driving. If you are fading the brakes on multiple stops, you need to change pads and/or you bought the wrong car.

Default Sure.

It's a nice inexpensive upgrade and definitely gives you a nice noticeable improvement.

Default Actually it is a nice upgrade that gives better stopping power. >

I did that upgrade on my old C4 A6 Avant. It's not about fading the brakes, on such a heavy car, having better brakes is always welcome.

Default Still disagree. What do the A8 brakes do that the stockers can't?

For the first few stops, the limiting factor is the tires. After than there might be some fade, but even most aggressive street drivers will never fade the stock brakes. And even if the car is tracked, stock brakes with more aggressive pads are more than adequate.

I love it, I just did it! Makes the A6 avant brake much better.

They are bigger. Bigger = more mass and more leverage.

Agreed. But I repeat: What can they do that stockers can't? Other than add unsprung weight.

Default Sorry to harp, but "brake much better" means what?

The only quasi-useful benefit I can see is possibly better pedal feel. If you are claiming shorter stopping distances, I'd call BS.
