Sounds like the brake switch on your brake pedal

Default No it doesn't. Sounds like the classic ABS module failure.

How does a faulty brake light switch make the ABS warning light come one?

if its faulty then why doesnt it come on always? also is this dangerous and can something bad happen or can i still drive it with the annoying light that comes on sometimes...

Default The failure mode is often intermittent, at first.

Suggest getting the codes read, as other problems like wheel sensors can trigger the light.

The common issue on the Bosch ABS module is an intermittent communication failure to the module.

A search on ABS module failure will yield more info than you ever dreamed off!

Default Luvnhate has it right - your ABS module is failing. You can continue to drive with the

annoying light but be forewarned that you are simply delaying the inevitable - the light will come on more and more frequently until it is always on. As for being dangerous - you'll continue to brake just fine under normal circumstances but your ABS is likely gone.

Your aoptions are to have the dealer change the ABS control module ($1100 to $1200) ot to get a rebuilt one from ModuleMaster or BBA and install it. It is a pretty easy job, would take you about 1.5 hours if you are reasonably hande, and will cost you all of $250 if you have basic tools (screwdrivers etc.) already.

Default Strange but true. My 2.8 did that shortly after I sold it. Also included the a/c shutting down,

instrument panel going bonkers.

Default Two years....

Ours has done this for 2 years, and we never did anything about it. Our region does not have cold weather often, and the roads are in good repair, and based on the locations we drive to and from, there is little use for ABS (Even on the car with good ABS!). Ours is gone, and we have not prioritized it. The worst thing about it is the randomly-occurring 3 beeps.

BTW, there is a way to repair the ABS module if you are adventuresome. I don't have the link, but STFA and you will probably find it.
