Default ABS Control Module Problem Solved!!

Is your cars ABS & traction control light on? Does your car beep at you three times during every start-up? Is your scan tool having trouble communicating with your ABS control unit?
If these symptoms are present, then usually replacing of the electronic ABS control unit, which is attached to the side of the hydraulic pump assembly in the engine compartment, is the fix for these symptoms. ECS Tuning does not guarantee that replacing of the ABS control module will repair your ABS system with these symptons, proper diagnosis of the ABS system still needs to be performed.

These OEM modules were just released by V/W & Audi as a repair prodecedure instead of replacing the very pricey pump assembly. In the past, in order to replace the eletronic portion of the ABS pump assembly, customers had to purchase the OEM assembly as a complete unit, most of the units are/were well over $1000.00. While these modules are not in-expensive, they are still very cost effective repair procedure compared to the price of the complete pump assemblys. Some of the complete pump assemblys were around the $2000 range in recent past.

Application Note
There are many pump assemblys on the A4/A6/S4/Passats. All have the part #'s are engraved on top of the pump assembly. You must know the part # off your pump assembly in order to order the correct repair module. There are 8 different repair modules, so it is important to know what your pump assemblys OEM part # is. Our website list what module you need to order, with what pump assembly. If you do not see your specific pump assemblies # or have any questions on applications for these modules, please contact us, we will be glad to help.

To search for the correct repair module for you car, please click on the appropiate model on our dropdown menu, then in the "braking" section, select "ABS" & you will see the repair modules there.

Default So, Tom, you're saying that the repair is $1000 with the OEM module?

Why wouldn't we simply have the control unit rebuilt for $250 at Module Master?

Default Modules are $400-600, complete pump assemblys are $1000+

Not everyone has had success with rebuilding the OEM modules, for $400-600 you are getting a new OEM (revamped) module.

Has the design of these new modules been changed to eliminate the problem areas?

Default $250 at Modulemaster...just got mine back a week ago...Gavin (owner of Modulemaster) rebuilds the

module and gives a 5 year warrantee...From my conversations with him, the simple explenation of the failure in the factory units is too much elec. causing the burnout...he rewires the module so it won't burn out...check them out, or give him a call: (208) 892-0764

http://www.modulemaster.com/audiabsbsrepair.html</a
