Default ABS Light and Codes (Not the typical STFA ModuleMaster fix)

I have been having ABS problems and I want to make sure it's not related to the controller before I go to my mechanic. I have had the controller redone by Module Masters because I had the ABS/Brake light issue. I now have the problem of, on normal, non-slick surfaces, my brakes are giving me the feel as if I'm slipping on ice and the ABS is working full force.

I pulled the codes:

00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Left (G46)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent

Is this something that could be a result of an incorrectly repaired controller or is this a new problem? If it's new, anyone have an idea how much this is gonna cost me?

Default Ummm....

...why not believe the VAG COM error code and check the rear left wheel abs sensor? looks like a loose connection, so cleanup contacts and reconnect?

Default Since the relative stupidity of my question has shown my inexperience...

...can you tell/show me what it is I'm looking for?

Default Sounds like you're looking for a dealer. Or a Bentley.

Get a manual.
Hope you've got tools. Like a tool set. Working on cars generally takes a good set, not 'what tools do I need?'.

Sorry to be so harsh, but it sounds like a wake up call might be needed. You seem to have some computer skills, but from here on in it's following cables, checking connections, and maybe some wrench work replacing an abs sensor.

Most likely sensor is dirty or not fully seated.
