Default ABS Module Incorrectly Coded

Well, got the ABS module to accept the manual transmission code, and now I get a flashing BRAKE light and some annoying beeps on startup. I've heard of this problem fixing itself, but I'd love to know what causes it. I know it's a long shot, but does anybody know?

Update: the problem hasn't fixed itself as I've seen happen on other cars and other forums. Is it because the engine computer is still looking for the TCU, or what?

possibly you got wrong ABS module for your car.
I have found that VW Passat and Audi share the same modules, even they use identical part# but they are programmed either for Quattro or FWD car, and some have Can-Bus and non-Canbus programming
some modules if you lucky have additional programming that you can switch to either Quattro or FWD with or without Can-bus

I have sent my ABS module to a X company and got somebody else module that was for VW passat , same part# I access the module and it was programmed for FWD car, but I couldn't swith to Quattro, it didn't have additional data

Do you have access to VAGCOM, if so can you access ABS module, and check the coding, and in what is the identification does it say somewhere ABS Quattro or ABS FWD ?

I have vag com and I coded it "incorrectly." The module is the same as before with the exception of changing the 7 in 06397 (auto trans designation) to a 5 (manual trans designation), and the module hasn't changed either. Just trying to figure out how to get the ABS module to be happy with its coding, because it's what it's supposed to have. I really appreciate your feedback on this, and I'm sorry I wasn't clear with regard to the reason it was coded incorrectly. Any thoughts in light of the new information?

so this abs module you have was yours and you shipped to get it repaired ?
Do you get any error code ?
I would disconnect the battery then once you reconnect try to log in, if it doesn't allow you to change the code, then the module is bad.

No, didn't send it anywhere, didn't remove it, didn't work on it. I did a manual swap, and I had the ABS and ESP warning lights after the swap - "missing communication from TCU". I logged into the ABS module and recoded it for the manual transmission, and now it says "ABS module incorrectly coded".

if it doesn't allow you to change the code even there is option to do that
likely it is not programmable, only has one program set, you have to change the ABS module from a vehicle with manual tranny.
