Default affordable 3.0 quattro exhaust options?

hey everyone, I just bought my 03 A6Q 3.0 from my girlfriend. It was her mothers car since new and has been maintained well with 130k on it. But one of the mufflers has an exhaust leak. When I search for exhaust systems it is hard to find something for the 3.0 and when I do it's 1500-2000 race systems.

I appreciate any help and look forward to being a part of the forums. I had a TT a few years ago.

Default The C5 3.0 black sheep exhaust

These systems have two down pipes from the front, mid resonator section and two separate mufflers at the rear, where is your exhaust leak?

All parts can be found on line with exception to the center resonator that seems to be a dealership part only and not cheap, most other parts can be found on ebay, amazon or just google the part number to see who has it.

You can use this link to find your part numbers http://www.jimellisaudiparts.com/

Good luck and welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to be from the drivers side muffler, but I was guessing I'd have to replace to whole system. I did find "SuperSprint" mufflers but they were $750 each?? and obviously they need to match!

So I guess I'm hoping for rear replacement mufflers of some kind.

you could even just use magnaflow, they sound great (little more throaty then stock no drone) and they are CHEAP! shop in town will do two installed for under 200!

so you are saying a universal muffer from Magnaflow? I haven't found a muffler yet for less than 600 a side.

A universal should be OK, after the exhaust has traveled through the cats and the resonators, the engine shouldn't care what the muffler does as long as it's not too restrictive. One that fits the space and is built well (and sounds good to you) should work fine.

yeah the universal mufflers form magna flow will be fine! 600 a side is a rip off for what is essentially a baffled metal can !

i think you can score a set at 80 a pop or 160 total, at least thats what i can do with the 2.7t, what is the inlet/outlet offset and the inlet/outlet diameters? if they match ill just send you the info on the magnaflows im looking at and you can go from there,

I think the diameter for the 3.0 is just a little smaller than your 2.7T. I am going to put the back end up on ramps tomorrow and get a closer look at the exhaust and leak.
