aftermarket headunit with BOSE speakers?

Not sure, but I think there is an adapter available
In my last vehicle, a Nissan Maxima, every shop I went to said no no no you can't use the OEM speakers or wiring due to the bose amps.....
I get on www.crutchfield.com and wow, $25 and the Bose worked flawlessly... Not saying that they sounded as good as something aftermarket, and in the end I did go with completely aftermarket speakers, but it is possible... If I remember correctly it has something to do with the ohm load of the BOSE speakers being 1 ohm.

You can disable the Bose equalizer, but you can't disable.....
...the amps or the other hardware. Bose systems use specific speakers that only work with the amps and require Bose specific equalization.
Basically, Bose is a smoke and mirrors gimmick to make you think that you're hearing something you're not. Like all smoke and mirror setups, it requires specific hardware - any break in the chain and the whole trick falls apart.
While Bose setups may sound impressive (note that I said impressive - not accurate) in a car, the Bose in the Audi fails miserably. It does sound much better in the A8 and new A6 though.....
Accurate sound reproduction in a car is impossible to achieve, and nearly impossible in a home.
There are too many variables in a car to even try....

You don't need adapters if you'r e willing to cut.
The wiring diagram is right on top of the fact. bose radio. If you just match up using the diagram and the radio instructions you don't need a harness. In fact you only use like four wires from the adapter harness anyway, and you will still have to cut even if you use the harness. Also the bose spkrs use a common ground..it's marked com on the label.

I've finally blown the front mid range speakers in my roadster. Worthy replacement without overkill?
