Default Aftermarket warranty claims: if you're missing a receipt for an oil change - will that be (edit)

enough for the warranty company to deny a future claim? Just wondering if anyone has experience in this field.

The talk of warranty claims motivated me to update my "service history" notebook and am missing the receipt for oil I purchased (did the labor myself).

Also - I'm ahead of the "factory maintenance schedule", but looking at my personal record - I have a 9k mile gap.

I've heard horror stories of warranty companies being tough about this, just wondering how tough is tough. I hate to think I just blew a $1500 warranty because I lost a receipt.

Again, TIA.

Default My record of oil changes that I do myself is just my notation. That should be enough.

At least I hope so. I do not keep the receipts for the oil I buy.

They could use it against you.

I bought Lubrico Warranty (maybe just in Canada not sure), they do not allow you to change oil yourself. However I have made a claim and the shop that I went to did not send anything in to make the claim they just quickly looked over the oil change log...

How has your overall Lubrico experience been? I purchased a 3yr/60k km warranty from them recently for my 00 2.7t. Unlike other co's they won't give any latitude on the 3 month/ 5k oil change requirement even when using synthetic.

Default All advice I've gotten is be sure you have receipts at least for the oil...

these companies are in the business of minimizing payout and will take any exclusion they can get if it's an issue.

I have a pile of Costco receipts for Mobil 1... ;-)

Nope. No warranty left, so I guess I dodged another bullet!

Autowarrantybroker.com contract states:

"You must upon request show us and/or the repair facility all sales receipts, invoices, or work orders showing that the vehicle has been properly serviced or maintained according to manufacter's specifications."

A little vague, but reasonable...

Default Hmmm - have any from last March you'd be willing to send a copy of??? J/k.

I have an oil receipt from my other car, I guess it doesn't matter, they don't know what it was used for.
