AIrbag ECU replaced now key stuck in ignition
My local garage replaed my airbag module and now the ignition key won't come out of the barrel. The dash indicator shows it as being in park, any clues would be appreciated. Audi dealer is not being vey helpfull, they wanted me to pay them £1000.00 to change the £235 module....

That's odd, I don't think there's any electrical-dependant lockswitch in the ignition tumbler(?)
I assume your mechanic has tried moving the shifter and wiggling the steering wheel? I jumped in an A4 once that someone had cranked on the steering wheel (while getting out of the car) and the ignition was locked really tightly on the steering lock. HTH, good luck!

Yup, we had the key stick in the ignition at the dealer several times. It was always
the gear **** selector. We'd move it back and forth, at first gently, eventually using faster motions until the key would be released.

I had that happen last week...
When parking, I managed to shift from the tip gate over to the main, without fully getting it in the main gate. I accomplished this by anticipating the need to use the button on the shifter early and sliding the whole shifter at about an 11:00 angle if that makes sense...
I could still shift PNRD, but the sliding action was tight and the key would not come out when in P. Panic ensued. I reversed, went forward, back into P. Still the key would not release. Then, I got it back over into the tip gate, then knocked it right back into D, then sliding up into P with the button. All is well. Key came out.
