Airbag Labels

Help!
I've searched the archives - and everyone else seems to have had an easier time removing their airbag warning labels from the visors.
I started to remove one from the drivers side and ended up spending an hours getting the entire sticker off. It kept shredding into smaller and smaller pieces.
Does anyone have some helpful hints other than goo gone (will not penetrate sticker to disolve glue) or a hair dryer (tried it)?

My sticker was a very thick plastic that would not tear if I wanted it to. That's probably why everyone has had an easier time removing them. We might have a different kind of sticker than you do. Worst case scenario, go to the dealer and see what they can do. Otherwise, sorry, but I have no clue how to get the sucker off.

I have an 02 and the sticker is a very thin plastic. I can actually see the grain in the headliner underneath.
I'm thinking of painting some kind of top-layer over this sticker. I figure if Goo Gone did not penetrate the plastic, nothing will.
Now I need to find some kind of flexible paint or adhesive that I can paint over the sticker to reinforce it for easier removal. Something that retains some flexibility so that it will not simply chip off as I pull on the sticker...
Any suggestions anyone?

Airbag stickers same as BMW--just removed them--
Here's how--warning however, may see "shadow"
where you remove them--probably will blend
with time and slight fading...
Mask with tape around perimeter---wet with
GOOF OFF on rag--peel from corners--keep
re-wetting(do not overdue and spill on Interior--
and peel slowly--will help the break-up of
sticker---clean after removal with Goof off--then
goo-gone---then use good vinyl cleaner---
you're done....

Pulled mostly downward and away as opposed to foling it over itself. It was very heavy stock and came off quite cleanly.
