Have used Continental ContiExtreme Contacts for about 40 000km's. Realistically, you won't be getting great snow performance out of any all-season tire in this size. The Continentals were fine in snow (just keep moving and play it safe) until they progressively got worn down. Still, good a decent life out of them and they are due for replacement before the first snow. As for noise, well again, seemed to get progressively noisier as they wore down (expected), but reasonably quiet at first. Dry and wet traction is quite good. These tires are often cheap and feature closeout pricing. However, very satisfied with their durability, no pressure loss or anything despite smashing through a myriad of Canadian roads.
Personally, I'm thinking of the next-gen of these tires, the ContiExtremeContact DWS or (Dry, Wet, Snow). Look to be around the same price, and I suppose its always better to have a newer design. The tires look a bit more adaptable to snowier climates.
If you get tires soon, let me know how they turn out, whatever the brand. I'm in the market for some new ones myself soon.
