First time poster; I need some help.
I've had my beautiful 2003 Allroad for about three months and the timing belt snapped and the engine is now junk. I'm not comfortable swapping out the engine myself, so I'd have to pay labor on top. Unfortunately, I think my best option is to sell at this point. How would you go about doing that? How much could I expect to get? I'm thinking around $3000 less than what I paid ($7000).

If you aren't doing the work yourself, it may be worth it to sell. Unfortunately I would guess $2,000 is more in line with what the car is worth without an engine..but I may be wrong and am talking a little out my -@ss on that (never sold or bought a car with a blown engine).
It looks like the car was otherwise well maintained, so maybe someone will recognize that - possibly missing a timing belt service (or appearing to have missed it to a buyer) doesn't speak highly of the cars maintanence...

The vultures will be circling this one for sure. lol. Hell I would pay 2500$ for this car as well.
Not many buyers for a non-runner car. That leaves flippers who need to get it for junk value. This severely limits your options.

LOL...you won't get $4K.
Just pull the heads, repair them, and put them back on.
