Default Allroad headlight conversion. Need help with headlight removal.

I started with pulling the Allroad headlights apart to clear corner them. Getting them apart was a piece of cake, I used a hair dryer. Snapping the amber reflector off was easy too.

After pulling them apart, I figured out the easiest way to hook up these Allroad headlight housings.

All these pieces snap together with clips, the headlights are very easy to disassemble and reassemble. I plan to remove my stock headlights, pop them open as if I were doing clear corners and swap the Allroad parts in. Piece of cake.

I've was using nene's instructions from his post on RS6.com about removing the headlights. I removed the 3rd screw easily and the other 2 tops screws. Heres where I'm stuck...

"The housing itself is attached to a white plastic socket that is attached close to where the inside end of the housing meets the radiator. It's connected via a black cylinder that fits snug inside the white plastic female socket." - nene's post.

I can't for the life of me find this on my headlights. Am I blind or just looking in the wrong place?

Default It took me a while to find it myself...

I am gonna try my best to describe where it is...but its sorta hard to do without pointing.

Ok...while you are working on the headlight...you need to look toward the center of the car(radiator). It is going to be pretty far forward (toward front of car) on the "center metal piece" the headlight is right next to.

I believe the way I found it was to move the headlight around in its place and you can sorta feel where the headlight is getting pulled back from. I then just tryed all angles with a flashlight and found it.

Finding it is the easy part...Good Luck

Default removal of bumper might help; the ballast is mounted on the bottom and could scratch your bumper..

during removal.

Default please remove the bumper

a couple months ago I tried that way to remove the halogen headlights. results. both headlighs scratched on the side and one of those bottom supports snapped. all of this to find out that putting a xenon kit on a A6 is a mess. it doesn't look good.

this saturday and with a new pair of bi-xenon headlights, took the bumper off. I didn't want to mess with the headlighs. results. all afternoon around it with a friend and at the end a perfect bi-xenon setup
