I like the Falkens, but feel snow perf could be better with a different tire. For those who have used the Falkens in the snow, would you suggest another tire with better snow perfo?

It's an H rated tire and when I ran it on my '92 100CS it was unstoppable. The thing is, it's not a real aggressive snow tire, it's more like a weather aggressive tire.

In fact I'm on my second set. 35k from the first at 95.00+ install..what could be bad?
I love the tires for what they are a true all season Z rate tire. I bit better in dry sthan some summer tires I even had my first track day with them.
That being said.. what are your winters like? I commute 100+ miles round trip a day.. Long Island throguh New York to New Jersey, so the winters are not Vermont style. These tyre are fine for my winter. If we had more snow, or snow more often, I'd opt for either a true single season snow tire.. or I'd go with the best All season the NOKIAN WR V rated. Its all season but the only all season with the SEVERE WINTER RATING STAMPED on the sidewall. They must know snow in Finland.
I had them on my son's R-32. Simply amazing tire. dry, cold, wet, snow, regarless of the amount of snow.. (Northern Connecticut college)..they are great.

I know their cheap, but when your in the snow with all wheel - you should be really secure.....not sure I do with these. Is there a tire which is cheap, is like the Falken, but better than the falken in snow? hmmmm

I run Michelin Arctic Alpins, a great all-around winter tire, but there are others that do better in deep snow.
Narrower tires on smaller rims are better in snow that fat tires on big rims, and the cost for rims & tires is a lot less, too.

I used those in -35c for a month, they were really good, and I am an inexperienced winter driver. Cost me about $690 Cdn for all 4 (235/45r17), mounted and balanced, seem to be a good value. There may be better tires, but your going to pay a lot more, so be sure of what you need given your location and weather.
Hope This Helps,
