I was at the Sepulveda car wash today and up pulls a really nice silver 02 4.2. I havent really had a chance to look at one up close so I had a peek inside and I was really upset when I saw the beautiful bucket seats in the back. The 03 has a flat piece of leather covered foam for the bottom and a flat leather covered piece of foam for the back with 3 headrests and an armrest that is a thin flat leather covered piece of foam. In contrast to the 02 it looks really cheap.. as well as the tip buttons on the wheel and motion sensors and passenger memory I wish I had been able to find one.. I love my 03 but i have this kinda pissed off feeling when I think about the conscious decision by Audi to remove these features after offering some of them for only one year...Oh well..

(I believe its called- "Sepulveda West Quick Lube")
I stopped going to the former because I moved further away from it- then I went to the Sepulveda West place and started noticing scratches on the fenders- they use those hanging "beat the crap out of your car" things to wash your car whereas the Shine & Brite place is hands off...
be advised...
I've since gone to an all handwash place closer by my work (Westchester Hand Wash Detailing)- they do a superb job- for less than Sepulveda Quick Lube (though it usually takes longer due to lines, their attention to detail)
I'm going to check out Walker Detail on Santa Monica soon (they do all hand wash as well...

The storage pocket that replaced it gets more use!
I'd be longing for the original back seat though. I was always a bit bugged that there was no 3-point belt in the center position, but would probably give that up to keep the hump! The rear seat is really the most significant change I think.
I miss too the heated steering wheel with radio controls...and probably would trade back the sport wheel for that. I kinda liked the way my hands fell onto the 4-spoke wheel too - it was a little fatter. A lot of people like the Tip controls on the 3-spoke sport wheel, but frankly I'd rather have the radio controls as the Tip is so slow to respond to those buttons as to be - IMHO - useless. Really more of a PITA than it's worth.
Last thing is no alarm button on the lower driver b-pillar. I guess there's no motion sensitive alarm anymore either. Don't really care or miss that either.
On the other hand, the 6-disc in dash changer is much nicer than the trunk mounted one from before (I think the system sounds better too, though it cannot be tweaked via the hidden controls like the '01's) and the Nav system has received significant software updates that make it much more convenient to operate. Other minor updates that have been previously mentioned are worthy too - for instance, it's quieter in there.

Pass seat rarely gets moved. For cars with power drivers seats, memory should be mandatory (at least 2 positions). My wife's driving position is so different from mine that it takes 5 or 6 minutes for the seat to cycle (minor exaggeration), and it could never be duplicated.

One in Culver City where the 2 Washingtons collide (just east of Costco), one in S. Oaks.
The ones that started the hand wash craze in So Cal. The cars lined up for drying on weekends are quite a sight.

I agree, the drivers side memory is awesome, and I would bitch loudly if it had been deleted from the car. Having it tied to the remotes is super handy - the seat is already moving/moved into position when you open the car door.
