Another new "mod" to S6, a V1....

After reading all the info and comments on the forums about how good it is I decided to "bite the bullet" and get it. I have a Passport 8500 which has been trouble-free, and would be a good detector for most uses, but I am curious about the "directional arrows". This is especially true after a recent drive on I-90 when my Passport went max. K-band for 20-30 seconds with no "obvious" troopers around. The only thing I noticed was an white, mid-sized SUV that had a radar detector on the dash which had pulled in about 4 or 5 car lengths behind me (I was doing over 80 at the time). The signal finally subsided when the SUV moved over to exit. Anyway, it would have been good to know if that SUV's detector was leaking micowaves (or maybe he had a jammer??)

...many bogey signals that were therefore false alarms.
I wouldn't mind having a recent one like yours; mine is about 1/4" taller.

Driving across Kansas at 11pm on I-70 and a trooper slowly approached me from behind and paced me for about 30 secs. before pulling me over. It's a 70mph zone, and he says I was doing 84, but he was going to be a good guy and just write it for 80 (as it was cheaper and no points). My detector went of at no time (so he didn't hit me with radar), my cruise control was set at 77mph (and it's dead-on accurate to my GPS), and at the point he was actually running with me, I'd slowed the cruise to 75 (as I wasn't sure what kind of car was approaching from behind in the dark). This is my first ticket in years, and it was so bogus, but what am I going to do...drive back out to bum-f**k Kansas to argue an $89 no point ticket...Not! Just annoying, that's all.

BTHIDTM. I hate it when you are stopped for revenue enhancement! I got passed by a van while in the zone of influence of a radar trap and guess who got stopped by the MD cop... not the faster MD plated van... but me in my PA car. Same deal..too expensive to fight espically when the cop advised that their state would only report the violation/points if I took it to a hearing. "and have a nice day yourself ossifer"

On the new model, that sensor is not there, and the height is reduced by the thickness of that sensor.
Good to see you posting around here. What's new and interesting with you?

and Cle Elum, many of the overhead info signs put up by WSDOT a few years ago have K band emitters. I had to turn off my Passport for cross mountain trips it went off so much. Now I hardly ever use the Passport in Washington because WSP doesn't use radar guns as much as they did back in the early-mid 90s.
