Default ANOTHER Noise related post.

Ok, I think I have narrowed down the source of "wind noise" in my A6 Avant. Any speed over 55 mph there is enough wind noise to replicate 80 mph.
IMHO there are two sources of this annoying wind noise, 35% of the wind noise is coming from the sunroof if the sunroof-slider is open(the slider on the inside of the car). Closing that lowers the noise by about 35%.
The rest of the noise is coming from the center-top of the windshield, almost right behind the rear view mirror. On the outside there is a very small gap between the windshield and the roof. I plan on taping that gap and taking a test drive.
Will keep you guys posted...

Its just very annoying to me that a car of this caliber has wind noise at just 55mph.
Please feel free to share any "solutions" you guys might have, or if you are also having the same problem.

Gap btw. windshield and body on my car took 2 visits to rectify. They filled it with "goop".

I have exactly the same noise problem coming from the same area with my '01 2.7T. Dealer claims noise level is "within acceptable limits." Those would be AoA's limits, not mine.

I'm going to try the goop option this spring. Just too cold outside right now to care that much about a little more wind noise. For now, just closing the slider helps, right?

Dunno. I'll ask at the dealer when I pick up my car, and let you know.
