"What is - there's something else bad also". In an ongoing attempt to find the source of a buzzing/scream (I have used many terms) related to heavy throttle input >/=~4K RPM, here's the result of checking the TBB for tears and the resulting elimination of my "gas passing" or "could play this like a trumpet" noise.
The tear was well hidden.

<big sigh of relief> Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Same place many find the tear.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/368/tbb4.jpg">
And something new (to me) on the opposite side.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/368/tbb5.jpg">
Although this did remedy one symptom, I still have something else causing the buzz/scream. I found a very slight amount of oil in the left turbo line (right turbo if facing the front of the engine). I called my service writer who asked some techs. They told him they see that most of the time on the left turbo, and it was normal (?). When I saw it, I just said "breaking turbo", but I'm up in the air about that now. The dealer gets to check it all out in the 4th, so we'll see then.
I popped a clip of some kind off when I pulled the left large plastic riser pipe out of the TBB. It's a channel about 3" long, 1/4 " wide, and 3/8" high. It has the male side of a clip on both ends and it appears a wire or tube may rest in it. Any ideas where it came from? Hate it when I end up with extra parts.

As far as your question about the part... can you post a pic and I will get under the hood and see if my 01 has same part (there are differences)to let you know where it came from.

had the AMS TBB on for a bit and was fine. Cost is $89 with their special spring clamps.
Or you can go high end and get the APR Bi-pipe at ~$350.
You maybe be able to find a deal on a used APR Bi-pipe since some cars are being sold and they are reverting back to stock form. Watch the adds!! : )
