Default Antenna Question ->

My antenna was broken off this weekend. It happened while my car was parked at the races (NHIS - Nascar). It is my understanding that that '98 rear trunk antenna is just for the cell phone. Is there a plug that I can put in there, I actually like how much cleaner the car looks without the antenna sticking up. Or is there a shorter antenna I can buy ... any suggestions??

TIA

Default One approach...

...is to get a 6mm machine screw (a short one) and dunk the head in that black rubberized goo you coat tool handles with. Then screw it in. (Measure the threads on the remains of your antenna to figure out how long a screw to get.) I got mine at a Home Depot, but good hardware stores might have a black anodized one. HPH

Default Had same problem, have been using just the loaded base for 2 years now...

No adverse effects, works as well as when the antenna mast was there. And looks better too.

My antenna got broken off at the top of the base load, so now I have a stubby 3" antenna. I just touched up the shinny area where the antenna broke with some blach touch up paint.

Why didn't I think of that? Just cut the thing off & touch up!
