Any A6 Avant owners running 18" wheels on a stock suspension?
Wondering what 18" tire combo goes well with our non-sport suspensions. I have a set of 235/40R18 Conti 2's which are the OE size for 18s, but I didn't like the looks of 225/45R17s on B5 Avus on this car -- so I'm guessing 18s with 235/40s would also be "too low profile" given our SUV-like ride height
Suggestions, or maybe you disagree. Even better -- someone hook me up with a sport suspension for an '03 A6 Avant

Have you checked the build sticker in the spare wheel well? I thought all...

The codes you are looking for are -
1BD suspension/shock absorption for special sports design
1BE sports suspension/shock absorption
1BQ sports suspension/shock absorption raised
1BV sports suspension/shock absorption
1P9 sports suspension
2MA 4-corner air suspension with electronic shock absorption control, sports version
2MC sports suspension with variable shock absorption
2ME super sports suspension with variable shock absorption
Here is my 2.7t on 18x7 rims with Dunlop[ Sport 01's - 235/45/18. I do not have a square-on side view photo I'm afraid.
If you are interested, I have the full list of option codes I dumped into an excel doc.

Looks for the most part -- not a fan of the stock 16s
Ran 17" SSR Comps in Anthracite with 235/45R17s F1s on the Avant last summer and the setup looked great with the stock ride height, but I want to try some 18s next summer.
I'm performance minded in general, but the A6 Avant is the mom and baby mobile (my S4 is the canyon carver/track day car) so a higher profile 18" tire would hardly impact the way we drive the Avant to the mall
That said, if I could find a "dialed in" (read: safe and tested for mom and baby) A6 Avant 3.0 street sport suspension that would lower the ride height a little I'd be installing that in a heartbeat! Definitely a soft OE ride for Colorado's mountain roads.

Brought this thread back from the grave to see what the OP ended up going with.
Interested in a sport suspension with slight drop as well before I decide to go after a set of 18's that I'd want to run 235/40r18's on.

big wheels on high springs looks stupid. Plus they cost more, are easily bent, ride rough and weigh more.
Want better looks AND better performance? Lower it 20-25mm, and switch to serious rubber (GoodYear F1, Michelin SuperSport, Pirelli P Zero Rosso, Khumo SPT, etc.)
