any advice on a scratched bumper cover (more)?

The scratch is small (2-3 inches in length and less than 1/8 inch wide) but is slightly deeper than the surface. I should have noticed the scatch, when we were exiting. We did notice that the car behind us was very close to the bumper but we did not see that he had hit us while parking. We live in NYC. I guess we will have to get accustomed to this concept. Seems strange that the bumper is white underneath the blue.
any help/thoughts would be appreciated. thanks

I'd have the entire bumper done for a smooth, even coat, although if they blend the paint around the corner and clear the whole bumper, it should look as it did before the scratch... make sure they remove the bumper when they work on it.
Probably not worth filing a claim if it is only the bumper cover... I just got hit again while parked... unfortunately they got the bumper, mirror, LF panel, and some trim.

that the bumper is white? That way it can be painted to match all the Audi colors. Unless you can find a body shop that claims they can fill the scratch invisibly (and insist on seeing examples), you'll either have to replace/repaint the whole bumper cap or live with this scratch until another happens. The bumper cap is all one piece, so it's all or nothing.

Body shops are a hassle. Rental cars, delays, things sometimes not put back together right. You might get results you find acceptable, if not, you can always do the body shop afterwards.

I've had my car for 3 years, and it's MINT - except for the back bumper. OK, and the front. Between parallel parking (I'm good, the guys in front and back suck), and the garage I park in ( I think they know when to stop when they hit the wall), my back has a lot of scratches. Drives me nuts, but it's a fact of NYC-car ownership.
