Any Idea on RS6 arrival
Has anybody heard any word on when the arrival of the RS6 might be? With only 850 coming to the US does anybody know about how many might be going to individual dealerships (I live in San Antonio, Tx and so I would imagine we wont get many more than 2).

San Antonio probably won't get any...
but it's arrival will probably be between May and July...as an '04 model.
I used to live in S.A. until 2 years ago...and I realize the dealership (Rod East) has been sold and moved...but S.A. dealership is too small and underfunded to afford the extra $$$ for the equipment necessary to service the vehicle.
Word is that any dealership that will get ANY...must get at least 8 or 10.

Actually know the Cavenders who now own the dealership and they just got through sending thier entire mechanic staff to special schooling for the knowledge necessary to work on these cars so I think they will be getting them but thats just my opinion. 8-10 per dealership seems a bit high but I guess that could be true. Do you know about how many dealerships there are here in the US?

One batch in early Spring, and another early Summer.
Approx 850 in all. Approx 400 dealers in US and Canada ( no, they aren't coming to Canada from what I've heard ). Of those, maybe 10 to 20% will sign up for the requirements to get RS6 allocation.

Stand alone dealership ( or allied with upmarket brand like Porsche ), over 10K in special tools,
and sending techs for specialised training. Dealer signup is still open, but I think AoA will be looking for firm commitments from dealers before the cars get allocated.

~400 dealerships...
yeah, the Cavenders are pretty big in S.A. (they're no Red McCoombs though ...maybe they will, but I'd be surprised...S.A. had so few Audis when I was there and that trailer they used at Rod East made me think it was a Daewoo dealership!
If I stay in the States next year, there is a good chance I'll be living in S.A. or Austin...so an RS 6 dealer would be great...and I guess I'll be talking to the Cavenders myself

Re: April, What requirements to get RS6 allocation?
Minimum allocation of 6 per dealer. 400 dealers, No Way. Try like 100 dealers.
Approximately $20k of extra service equipment/tools to buy.
All the dealers are set by now, I'm told.
Believe all cars have already been sold, as dealers were required about a month ago to provide copies of Customer $1k deposit checks to AoA so as to avoid dealers from ordering on speculation.
Also told word came down that there are to be No dealer premiums and they prefer the cars go to exisiting Audi owners. Perhaps AoA does want to treat their customers right.
And as an interesting note, was told most cars were snapped up by folks who are internet savy, as that's where word got out first.
