Default Not quite...but I test drove an Alpaka Beige/Ebony 4.2.

The color combo looked good, though my own personal opinion is that "earth tones" aren't the best match for the 4.2's rather "aggressive" demeanor. Personally, I prefer a color that's a bit less neutral.

Default Excellent point, Mike.

<flame suit on>Even silver can be a little, well, wimpy IMO. Of course, the right wheels and such make a big difference.

Default We almost got "melange" beige paint; very glad we didn't...

At best, it looks like Lexus from the 1990s.

I met a guy at Anderson-Behel on the lot, shopping for an A6. It was my first encounter with Steve Bollinger! He was thinking of getting melange. I pointed across the street at a used Lexus with a similar color. That did the trick. ;^)

Now it looks even more dated.

One of my favorite colors on the A6 is Atlas Gray. Dolphin Gray, too.

Default I had that combo in my Avant...

...and it was just gorgeous. The ebony in my S6 is a let down from that - nicer seats and leather, but the beige was just gorgeous. The Alpaka is unusual enough so that you don't see it on every other car. It is also sufficiently different from "Lexus melange" as to not look dated.....

Default Beautiful...I have one in a 2.7T, 2002. Best part...

nobody else does. Lots of compliments on the color. I have had mine for a full year, and have seen 2 on the road. Lots of silver, black, and nemo, but no alpaka. I'll post a picture in a day or so. Finally got a digi camera.

Default The car pictured is in Canvas Beige, not Alpaka.

Alpaka is noticeably darker.

Default I have one.

I have a 2000 A6 4.2 Sport/Nav package and it is great. cops don't look and it is always clean "looking". I think it is technically melange but I bought it new. tan interior is rich even after 50K and three years.
