Default Any other owners use the Dahlback chip and Diverter Valves?

I was looking at KMD tuning as I have a bunch of service items coming up I need to do (Full Timing Belt service, 80K service). I was thinking about doing a one stop shopping while I was there, and doing their chip and diverter valves (along with a new TBB) while it is under the knife. Anyone use this? Thoughts compared with the usuals on the market?

Chip and DV

Default I'm doing the Dahlback too. You get 30% off DV's if buy ECU. I'm also getting the tip chip

Go to Dahlback's web site to see the 30% offer. My tuner strongly suggested the tip chip as well as at least a new TBB. He would prefer to do the full SAMCO hose kit but I am only doing the TBB.

I'm doing this at the same time as the TB service too. I will also have him replace the water pump since the labor is already paid for. I'm also getting new back rotors and pads. It will be an expensive week.

Default Yeah... the brakes are in the mix for me as well. Was going to do them myself, unless it is a good

deal to do everything together as a combo. Where you having it done?

Amesbury, MA. There's a great German car tuner there that I trust.

Default I am running the REVO chip and I am really happy with it and it seems it does not produce......

that much torque comparing to the dahlback one. Which I think it is better for the tiptronic tranny. As I posted before, the torque converter is mostly affected by the high torque input from the engine which could make it fail or at least shorten its life. That is why I went with the REVO. But that is just me
Great choice anyways! Dahlback is one of the best european tuner companies!

Default Those DVs are a waste of money, unless at a 75% discount. Get 710Ns.

Only $40 each and in tests they come out the best.

Default Re: Any other owners use the Dahlback chip and Diverter Valves?

After reading , they limit the torque for Tips to 420nm.

If it were me, I may instead go with the O.CT ECU Chip or the Giac "S" chip.

I then would get the Giac Tranny chip, it maybe the only tranny chip out there that actually quickens the shifting.

Check Stoneys Links for all the info.

As far as TBB , the best choice is to go with the APR Bi-pipe since it eliminates the rubber TBB. Second choice would be a reinforced TBB maybe from AMS.

710N's work well as diverters.

Default Big 2nd on all points. I've used a variety of chips, programs, etc....

The absolute best service I've received from any company is O.CT, followed closely by Jeff Moss and GIAC.

If I've learned anything after 3-4 years of modding my A6, its that this stuff is not plug 'n play. The more you do, the less plug 'n play it becomes. The moral of the story: make sure that you're working with a tech with LOTS of experience modding Audis and make sure the you're working with a Chip Tuner with LOTS of experience AND the ability and willingness to make changes for your specific application. To my knowledge, only O.CT and GIAC will do that.

Many using APR, MTM, REVO, Dahlback may be using those products sucessfully - great! But what happens when it doesn't work as it should or something goes wrong?

This is not meant to be a which chip is best post. Rather, the point is that there is more to this decision IMO, then how much hp/tq does a chip/program produce. Chipping/downloading a new peogram is easy. However, the changes you're making to the way the engine operates is dramatic and potentially harmful. Make your choice wisely.

Default Achtuning TBB and APR R1 DVs are available with free shipping at the moment

Our Achtuning Silicone TBB is the next best thing to an APR Bi-Pipe (also in stock), there's package deals available on both with APR R1 or 710N diverters. The new R1s are a diaphragm based design and will react much quicker than the old piston type diverters, they have a lifetime guarantee as well.
