Default I'm almost at 90k and 4 years: Dissapointed

Mine just turned 4 years old on 4/23 and I have 89,500 miles.

A bit dissapointed. I've babied this engine and fed it Mobil 1 soon after break in. I've had an oil leak for the last few thousand miles and I can't see where it's originating but it's losing or consuming about a quart between oil changes (5 to 6k miles). Recently, it's started to stumble for a minute or so following a cold start if it's not been run for 4 or 5 days (any ideas??). VAG-COM indicates misfiring on cylinders 3 and 5. I've yet to pull the plugs to see how they look. I'll be pissed if they are oily...

I'm due for the 90k timing belt change soon. Can anyone tell me how much you paid for that to be done?

Thanks,
Luis

according to most, 1qt consumption per 1000 miles is considered "normal". I've got 74k on mine, and no oil leaking yet. It eats about 1/2 qt per 5000 miles. a t-belt and 90k tune up is around 750- 1000 bucks. I did have an oil leak 10k ago, it was timing chain tensioner seals. $2k to fix, lucky for me my x-warranty covered it. I've heard of water pumps needing replacement around 80k also. Get the complete 90k tune up and hope you have an extended warranty.

Default 1 quart every 1,000 miles !!!!!!

Dude!! Say what!? My Porsche flat 6 doen't even come close to consuming the "normal" quart for every 600 miles that Porsche allows for that notoriously-oil-consuming engine. I can't believe Audi would spec a quart every 1k miles.

I think the consumption is mostly my leak, wherever it's coming from. I'll find out when they go in for the timing belt change.

90k "Tune up"?? Modern vehicles have nothing to "tune". I've already replaced the sparks with Bosch +4 and I can do all else required at the 90K "tune up". I'll ask them to replace the water pump while they have the engine torn open so close to it.
