Anybody know anything about Yokohama tires? Try 'em?

According to Tire Rack the Yokohama AVS dB looks like an ultra performance all-season with an intriguing combination of characteristics for someone looking for all-seasons.

I bought my set of AVS db Yokos almost 2 months ago. I didn't think they would make such a big difference in tire noise. They replaced a set of Goodyear RS-A's that were down to the wear indicators and had a slight cupping problem.
I drive 25-30k miles/year and get caught in some pretty nasty driving weather here in the midwest. As much as I like the look and performance of 17" or 18" wheels I don't think they are practical for me right now.
I stuck with the 16" wineglass alloys and bought 205/55ZR16 Yokos from the Tire Rack. When I left the Tire Rack I was much more aware of the louder sound of the engine. Of course the engine wasn't making more noise, it was the tires making so little noise I could hear the engine for a change!
The only thing I would change is tire width, and for purely asthetic reasons. The 205/55's look kind of skinny. The 225/50's have the same 25" overall diameter and are not much more $.
Car handles great in the twisties and is a pleasure to drive at speed.

Do you think the 225/50's will fit? The stock tires with the narrower profile must have less than a 1/4" gap to the suspension components on the stock rims. Also it looks like if you get the wheels with more offset they would also rub with the close fenders lips.
