Default Anyone else have experience with fouled N80 Purge Valve?

Havent been able to take the Raudi in to perform checks, but Im not having any symptoms besides slightly rough idle during warm-up, only code is P1426- Tank Vent Open (it's not the cap). If the N80 is foled would I have a noticable symptom? Or could it just be a slight leak in the system somewhere? Possibly the charcoal canister? LDP? Ideas?

Default If it's a leak it's small,

Check to make sure no one pinched the vacume line at the front drivers side jack location. The aluminum line comes down out of the fender and meets up with the fuel lines going to the back. There is a ruber coating over the line at the jack location. In my case I couldn't see the break because of the protective rubber coating. There could be a leak anywhere along that line so check where it gets close to exhaust. Or check the connections at the N249 & the N80. I've just recently heard of someone installing the N80 backwards, which caused similar issues. If the leak was large you would get multiple missfires, so your looking for something small. My money is around the N80/ N249.

Default Thanks, I'll look in those areas, I was assuming small as well

So giving the lack of multiple misfires, can I assume for now that the N80 and N249 are still in working order?

Default I really couldn't give you a solid answer on that.

I had a complete blockage on my vacume line which was causing the car to run lean with missfires. Then when it developed into a leak I recieved insuficiant vacume & DLP codes.

Another Audiworld member found his N80 was installed backwards. He was getting all the same syptoms and codes as I was.

And another person (can you tell I was chasing this problem for a while!)found a small leak where the hose clamped on to the 289.

I don't beleive any of us saw the code you are recieving......but I figured since you were fumbling around with all the same parts we did you could use the info.

Default Re: Anyone else have experience with fouled N80 Purge Valve?

you might also see a 'small leak' code but it shouldnt cause any driveability probs. you can try taking the valve out and removing the small filter screen thats in one side of it to see if its clogged. you can also clean the solenoid out with carb cleaner... cycling the valve with a 12v power source. this valve gets clogged with carbon from the charcoal cannister that is degrading from tank being topped off and wet fuel getting in there fyi...
