Default anyone ever have to move the floor mat snaps?

So I gave in and ordered winter floor mats from my Audi dealer. They gave me mats for the 99-04 non-4.2 A6. I tried to put them in this morning.. and the only one that fits is the driver's side. The snaps on the passenger side don't line up, and the back mats don't even physically fit the floor, let alone snap in. I called, and the tech told me I would need to move the snaps on the floor. I was pretty sure they looked rather permanent, but I checked anyway... and I couldn't figure out how to move them. I asked if perhaps they were C6 mats, but he insisted they were for the C5. He said Audi changed the mats, and the new mats require you to move the snaps... BUT, he says he will check to see if the old mats are still instock.

So, finally, my question... has anyone ever moved the snaps on the floor? I can't, for the life of me, figure it out. They don't look moveable to me... but I've been wrong before.

Default If you have the 4.2, there is a different set for the V8, NOT the same as the V6...

they will not have the A6 logo on them, plain black with the rubber channels. If they say A6 on them, they are for the V6.

Default My set from Clair didn't line up perfectly, and have since 'adjusted' and fit fine.

Also, make sure you have the rears on the correct sides.

Default Oh, and you do know that the rear mats have a specific R and L mat...

look at the shape of the cutous vs. the seat rails for the front seats and you'll see which one goes where.

Default To clarify, the snaps do not COME off, they BREAK off. (car wash did it to my buddy's S4)

Mats SHOULD fit perfectly and SHOULD line up with the snaps, although, they will not go on the snaps if you have the stock carpeted mats underneath. No work needed, just throw them on the floor. And yes, the rears are kinda funky, make sure they're on the correct sides.

Default thanks bd.. mine have the logo, so they're for the V6. I honestly think they gave me C6 mats, I've

been working on them for an hour... there is no way what-so-ever the floor snaps move... and the rear mats are wayyyy too wide. I'm talking atleast 4 inches too wide for the foot-well.

Default they're going to have to go back.... i've been messing with them for an hour...

there is no way in hell the floor snaps move... the tech is full of crap. The back mats don't even physically fit.. several inches too wide. They gave me C6 mats, plain and simple.
