we were pretty even up to 65 when I let off it...I think it was an AWD one, as he got off the line pretty damn quick for being on a wet road. If I were chipped, I woulda walked him.

2.7t or 4.2 to be pretty fast. Heck, the 2.7t A6 is as fast as the 2.7t S4s. And the s-lines are supposedly even faster.
And yet G35s or 350z's with very similar performance numbers to your are "not very fast"? I assume, by analogy, you think that your A6 is not very fast either?

0-60 in 6 secs isn't terribly fast. Both the G35 and 2.7T A6/S4 live in this realm. I'm glad you get a kick out of it. Both cars are rather heavy so it takes a LOT of power to make them into the type of "street racer" car the original poster seemed to be interested in. The 2.7T w/chip and MT should be able to handily beat either a 350 or a G35 due to the substantially higher amount of torque available and slightly higher HP. The 2.7T doesn't get really interesting until you add some K04's. 8-)
Cheers,
