using your standards you agree that none of the non-chipped, non-modified Audi's (other than the RS4 and RS6) are "very fast".
Most of the people that like to denigrate the G35/TLs etc. as being "not very fast" are the same ones that say their 2.7t/4.2 "pulls like a freight train" which is being somewhat hypocritical in my opinion.
I personally think my unchipped 2.7t is "pretty fast", given that it is probably faster than at least 90% of the other cars out there on the road, but as long as you are consistent, you are entitled to your opinion as to what constitutes "fast".

A good driver will get 14.3-14.5 from a stock A6 6 speed. Stock Tip 2.7T runs 14.9-15.2
Chipped Tip runs 13.9-14.0
Chipped 6 speed 13.6-13.8's.
K04 6 speed 12.9's-13.1
K04 Tip 13.2-13.6
5 years ago the A6 was pretty competitive out there and a chipped one, was a real shock to people.
But the other brands have caught and in alot of cases passed the A6 .
At the track with regular drivers I might believe the A6 will run faster laps. It is more forgiving of mistakes.
With good drivers, the edge goes to the 350 and g35

But it has a very poorly built interior and rides like a 3/4 ton pickup. It's comparing a nice grand tourer to a stripped down sports car.

performance upgrades. They hit the market about the same time as the car did. That's why I can't wait to see what Gimp does with his. Now you need to get one so I can see what you'll do.

a veritable stump puller. The problem with hi-revving Japanese designs is that they get you HP at the very top end, but they aren't very "torquey" engines...which is what you need for schoolin' people at stop lights. 8-)
If you could find a way to stuff twin screws under the 350's hood and not melt the tops of the pistons off under boost, you'd have a seriously fast ride.
Cheers,
