Default Anyone have a "fast blinker" problem...(more)

I noticed tonight that when I put on my right blinker it blinks (and clicks) really fast. The left blinker blinks at 'normal' speed.

Is this a problem that anyone else has had? Is this a sign of any other electrical trouble?

Default Sounds like you have a bulb out...

Did you get out of the car and see if you have a blown bulb on the right side?

It's a bad bulb. If you can't see it start switching bulbs from side to side.

Default Not always the bulb...I had a short (twice) in the headlight unit.

Ruling out the bulb was easy, because it was intermittently not blinking. It was fixed under warranty.

Default Audi choose the wrong materials to use...

Well, we in America learned in the 60's that aluminum is not a great conductor of electricity; too prone to expansion, contraction, etc. The aluminum "fingers" that are used in the socket assembly are prone to wearing out within 2 to 3 years of normal use.

I believe there is a replacement socket made with copper that should eliminate the problem for good.

The truth about Audi is that their design ideas are innovative and brilliant while the execution is sometimes flawed. There are many mechanical systems that are bull dog tough, but the simple stuff sometimes gets too little attention.
