Anyone heard of a Stage III turbo kit for 2.7t with tiptronic (stage III minus)???
It happened again, first time at 33000 miles and now again at 82000 miles. One of my Turbos popped! KO3s are definate POS. I need some help , and any information would be greatly appreciated. I was talking to an indy and he refered to a Stage III- (minus) that is less powerfull than a standard Stage III which apparently is a bit much for the tiptronic transmission, which I have heard. I do not plan to turn this thing into a race car, but I am out of warranty, and its time for an upgrade.
If anybody has any information about a workable KO4 kit that is Titronic friendly I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Did they replace the turbo oil lines after the first failure? And have you been following the
proper warm up/cool down procedure? There are more than a few on here with over 100k on the stock turbos..

the minus refers to not having a fueling kit/fueling set up.
a full stage 3 has K04 and upgraded fueling (there are a few options for fueling). stage 3- has K04 with stock fueling (but not stock software).
has nothing to to with what transmission you have

I'm "Titronic" friendly. The tip is limited to about 300 ft-lb torque, which is exceeded at stage 1
by most chips. Not sure what K04's (no fueling) and chip will produce, but I'm sure it's not "tip friendly."
If you drive the car hard and plan to keep it, you should probably plan on a tip rebuild with mo betta components in the future.

Done under warranty by dealer (tech quit in middle of job, so who knows)
job had to be finished by another tech. Considering how most of the techs I talked to felt after a Momentum managment change (here in Houston) I am not surprised about his quitting, and not to certain about the quality of the repairs. Lets face it unhappy workers are not the most concerned about quality craftsmanship, felt bad for them, I know what its like to have Diaper type managment (always on your butt, and usually full of crap!)
Service wise, I am a bit retentive (if you know what I mean) when it comes to my baby. I take very good care of her, all work/service has been performed and I have the records. Quality synthetics, regular intervals, etc. I live in Houston = HOT,HUMID, occassial flooding, etc. not very ideal conditions, which I take into consideration when it comes to service. Like when the dealer told me I did not need to sevice the transmission at 50,000 miles because it has "lifetime" fluid, -- yea right, do it anyways, better safe than sorry.

Seen many post where full Stage III and tips are not compatible
-- too much power for the Tip from what I have read. I'm not looking for a race car, a bump in performance would be nice, and if they can adapt the ECU software to work properly with KO4s and stock fueling, I am OK with that.
Thanks for the info.

yes they can do that. its called stage 3- should be perfect for a tip
however there are many S4's running full stage 3 making 350-400awhp on stock tip trannys... maybe go post on the B5S4 forum if you want still feedback about stg 3 tips.
