Default Anyone know how to separate the pass side front inner CV joint on my S6?

This is the strangest joint I've ever seen? Nothing like the normal inner joint on my B5 S4.

Looks like it allows for a few inches of in-out movement?

My inner boot kit has a snap ring, too. Not sure where it goes, too.

I can post pics later if anyone thinks I'm crazy.

Remove about 8 bolts holding the two halves together, but why do so?

Default I need to install a boot kit. Boot seemed fine, but all my grease leaked out

Do you have a part print or diagram?

All I see are three roller/bearings inside the cup.

Default So, you have split the joint? Or you wouldn't be seeing the 3 *****. If the boot is in tact,..

how did the grease leak out? Split bolts loose? Add more grease and replace.

Default No *****, three rollers. The shaft is off and I cut the boot off. Now I need to split the joint

Th joint looks nothing like the outer joint. No way similar to a 2.7T. Must be a 4.2 Thing.

No BTDT on 4.2, but the snap ring should have kept you from pulling the shaft without splitting.

In the eBahn diagram, the circlip on end of inner axel is holding inner tripod joint in place. Move tripod cage onto axel to get close to axel end, clean off, then release circlip. I would NOT take apart tripod roller setup with cage, leave cage and tripod together and remove so you can put on new boot! Your goal is to keep joint greased and not let the grease out. I have not taken one of these apart before, but have done many normal CV repacks.

C5_1998-2005_tripod_joint_service.pdf
