Anyone know how to separate the pass side front inner CV joint on my S6?

and use a parallel punch to drift the inner casting off the end of the shaft.
I think it will tale just one or two good impacts to get it off.
Do not try pre-loading it first with a puller of any kind as this can cause the splines to dig into the circlip which then makes it a pig of a job to get off. You need the shock to force the curclip to comress.

I tried to pull or yank it out but didn't use too much force, as I was afraid to break it.
If I do pull it out, there's really no way I can get to the end of the shaft to install a new clip (if that's the way it is assembled) once every thing is installed since the end that mates to the tranny is totally enclosed.
Too bad I just can't take it apart like the outer joint.

I don't have parts # 10 and #11 either. There was just a metal to metal contact with the output end of the transmission. Pics forthcoming.

shaft and as close to parallel with the shaft as you can.
Looking at the diag - it looks just the same as an outer joint.

See all the grease. Hence the need for replacing the boot. Note no gasket or seal between the mating surfaces of axle to tranny.

Rear of the "Tripod Case" is inaccessible. This differs from your schematic.

In the repair manual, there are 3 different inner joint combos, and it looks like you have the AAR 3300i version which shows special tools to remove/disassemble.
From the diagrams, you need a special puller to support tripod and cage, then use slide hammer to remove from axel. You might consider bringing axel to dealer and having them put on inner boot kit.
Other note: don't know if it's feasible to take off outer joint, and slide new inner boot all the way over bulge of axel to get to inner side w/o removing inner tripod joint?

Tripod joint AAR 3300 disassembly and assembly

OTOH, if you're so unlucky as to have the type 3300, it seems some special tools would help. You don't need to disassemble the inner joint to install a new boot, but you have to remove the outer CV (rzeppa) joint to slid the new boot down the shaft…and it isn't easy.

yep, special tool to "yank" it out with a slide hammer. I just used a hammer and a vise and the tripod bearings slid free of the casing.
