Anyone know if 2.7t(A6) oil filter will work on a 1.8t(A4)?

If the PR valve were to stick closed, which is unlikely, then I guess the oil....
flow to the engine will incraese slightly caused by the lack of any pressure relief. This could in theory put an extra strain on the filter element as it would have to cope with a slightly higher flow.
I think it unlikley the filter canister will fail at any sort of normally possible oil pressure and I have never heard of it happening.
