Anyone know of a type or spec for the power steering fluid on these cars?

In this case a 2002 S6, but I imagine its the same for all the recent cars. Mine's right at the minimum line cold. its more or less been there since new but I thought it would be handy to keep a little around if it's something unique to the car. Was surprised to see no recommendation in the manual.
I can find specs for the oil, coolant, brake and washer fluids but nothing in the manual for the power steering hydraulic fluid. On the reservoir it just says use mineral oils only. Should I assume the generic stuff that I use in my other cars is sufficient?

Many synthetics are synthesized from mineral oil while some are ester based but I don't know what synthetic mineral oil would be. Maybe it's a synthetic and mineral oil blend.

More than likely Audi is still using Pentosin 11S. It is easy to tell by looking at your power steering reservoir. If you have a G 002 000 than your car takes 11S.
If you are interested this is what it is <A href="http://www.autobarn.net/ch252-0008.html"><b>Pentosin 11S</b></a>
Pretty spendy stuff huh!!

model year 84 thru 90+ Not sure if it has changed recently... It is expensive, about $24 per ltr. But you can not mix it with other "mineral spirits".
Take it to the dealer and have them top it and all other fluids off (including windshield fluid) for free... while under warranty
