the collection. However, the article was published in the summer of '97. I found a related article about refurbishing the top ( it was an SL ) in the July edition and it was numbered as article 2 in the series.
Yeah Gerry, the garage is a very tempting place. You go there to clean the inside of the tailight assembly and next thing you know, POOF ! there goes the day.

it's already had carbon cleaned out twice. I have a stumbling idle and this is just the easiest first step to try and fix.
And no, it hasn't helped. As for gas, I use Chevron, Mobil and 76. Occasional bottle of Techron or Redline fuel system cleaner.

I have a Feb. '00 build, April '00 delivery 2.7T 6sp. and haven't experienced any issues with the fuel senders (yeah, I know I just jinked myself). As for a wee bit of rough idle it has been there from day one, so I don't believe it's carbon buildup in the engine. Though this is the first time I've heard of Techron concentrate, so I'll see if I can pick up a bottle.

One was an "intensive" injector flush. The other was a hot backflush of the crankcase. Both used Bosch products. Sound pretty invasive, but perhaps are warranted for older engines.

Have you ever done the run from Gorman to Lancaster? Relaxing but intense at the same time, the lack of scenery can help ease the mind.
