apr chip
Hi every one, this is my sad story I own a 2000 a6 2.7t. In jan 2003 I decided to chip my car, after a lot of if`s and but`s, I decided to go with A.P.R. So I went to the web site and found a tuner near to my NYC home. My car was chipped on a wednesday and by thursday night the apr boost was gone, I went back to the shop and they said that I had to change my diverter valves,I left the shop and 5 mins. later apr boost was gone, the next time I went back to the shop they said I need an APR bipipe, again 5-10 min. APr boost gone ,actually all boost gone.this went on for 2 months. I then called APR and they told me that my car was the problem and nothing was wrong with thier software or installers. So I went to my audi dealer for servicing .My friend is the head mechanic at this dealership so I explaied my problem to him so he could deal with this specific problem. He changed mass flow sensor and said I was ok as far as the worthiness of my cars integrity.Again I was getting 0 boost from apr and it would put my car in limp mode with only 3 lbs of boost. hmmm, I have a friend with a2000 s4 mtm chipped. I used his ecu and wow,the car was running fine so,he let me use it for about 3 weeks and I am still running fine.apr told me that maybe my ecu was bad so I got another ecu and chipped it again. the boost comes in then it goes then it`s back again then it`s gone repeatedly spontaneously randomly, What the heck is going on, Now Apr to me feels alot better than mtm but does it even work. the guys who installed the apr chip have thier own shop and I think they are some of the most professional people I have met in the tunning arena, they are very pleasnt but what should I do?IS it bad installation 2 times ,bad software? I would think apr would try to find out why mtm works fine in my car but apr gives 5 min of boost, Thank you for you thoughts.

Re: Sounds like a bad eprom.
I did send it to them , they said it had 43 fault codes that the dealers obd or vag did not see. I have a vag tool and I saw no fault codes. The cleadred all codes and still no apr boost.

Do you have a boost gauge?
How are you measuring the boost? I would recommend at least temporarily tapping a vacuum line so you can get some accurate readings with the suspect apr chip in place and an unmodified stock ecu. The leakdown tester from AWE may also be a bit of help. Almost sounds like you've got the wrong program for the car or something.
