Will come on 4.2 when debuts here. Maybe offered on the 3.2 at that time too.

Will the air suspension be standard on the 4.2 or an option?

(IMHO some of the complaints about the A8 on less than perfect surfaces I think are related to the air suspension...)

Default No word if it will be standard or an option. Probably an option.
They are scrambling now to fix the sometimes brittle ride, before the car hits all international markets.

Default In US, would have to be an option
to meet price points. Plus, not everyone is going to want it.

Will the new S8 have the air suspension or something more traditional?

What is the source of your info.?

I have a 2005 A6 4.2 Preliminary Order Guide dated June 16, 2004 (given to me last week by one of the four Audi dealers in the Philadelphia area) which does not even list air suspension as an option.

Each of those dealers with whom I've spoken says air suspension will be coming by calendar 2005, but its not likely to be in or available in the first A6 4.2's they expect to get.
